Barbara E. Fowler, age 78, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on August 11, 1944, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the daughter of Stanley and Lillian (Goossens) Vail. Barbara retired from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center.
Barbara was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #4027 and Amvets Post #95. She was also a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge #2555.
She is survived by her children; Donna (Shaun) Magers of Newark, Ohio, and Don (Bonnie) Griffith of Bellville, Ohio, two grandchildren; Jerry Nolan and Glenn Magers; three great grandchildren, two sisters; Margaret Small of Florida and Deborah (Willy) Sanders of Mississippi.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Fowler, a son; Tom Griffith, siblings; Ron Vail, Karen Vail and Marsha Vail.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 beginning at 2 p.m. in Morris Chapel Cemetery on Hyatt Road. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Barbara E. Fowler.
