Charlotte D. Cavinee, age 74, of Howard, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 28, 1949, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Marie (Harris) Lyon. Charlotte was a 1967 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and was employed for many years at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center where she retired in 2016.
Charlotte was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother spending most of her free time volunteering or cheering on her children and grandchildren in their activities. She was a loving and devoted mom, grandma and great grandma that will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her children, Jason (Misty) Cavinee of Newark and Missy Cavinee of Howard, her grandchildren, Nicholas (Naomi Jones) Cavinee of Newark, Cadee Cavinee of Newark and great granddaughter, Layton Cavinee.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, where friends may call from 12 noon until the time of service.
Memorial contributions in Charlotte’s name may be made to Hospice of Knox County.
