FREDERICKTOWN — Fredericktown High School’s FFA chapter celebrated the meaningful tradition of National FFA Week Feb. 18 to 25 with a variety of activities.

During school spirit week, the group celebrated America Monday; Tuesday as Truck/Tractor Day; Wednesday as Camo Day, Thursday as Blue/Gold Day, and Friday as Cowboy Farmer Day.

On Thursday, Feb. 23, the FFA also provided a variety of desserts to show their appreciation to the school staff. Members also conducted Ag Olympics as a promotional activity during Fredericktown Middle School lunch.

“National FFA Week is a meaningful week for members across our country as we celebrate the organization, share the message of positive youth development through FFA and promote agriculture,” said National FFA Advisor Dr. Travis Park.

The tradition began in 1948 to recognize President George Washington’s legacy as an agriculturist and farmer. A group of young farmers founded the FFA in 1928 and the organization has been influencing generations to recognize that agriculture is more than planting and harvesting. It involves science, business, and much more.

Debra Burden is the FFA adviser.
