MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found 17 guilty and sentenced two people after court trials, arraignments and hearings this week in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court.

These were the cases brought forward by the Mount Vernon Law Director’s Office.

OCT. 26

Johnathan Snyder, 26, of Columbus, was found guilty of Driving Under a Non-Compliance Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine.

Preston Richard, 27, of Newark, was found guilty of Driving Without a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced him to pay a $30 fine.

Assistant Law Director, Brittany Whitney represented the State of Ohio in the above cases.

Oct. 25

Corbet Timmons, 21, of Kirkersville, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Isabella Stevens, 22, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an OVI/ALS Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine, serve three days in jail, and suspended her operator’s license for 30 days.

Jamie Seidler, 28, of Mansfield, was found guilty of Failing to Keep an Assured Clear Distance Ahead. The Court sentenced her to pay a $50 fine.

Alistair Brown, 19, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Failing to Use Reasonable Control. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.

Randall Wolford, 61, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle with Expired Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $15 fine.

Debra Weiss, 64, of Howard, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $150 fine.

Christian Wiles, 23, of Butler, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine.

Amber Wright, 41, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Theft. She will be sentenced on Nov. 29, following a pre-sentence investigation.

Gabriel George, 43, of Howard, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail and placed him on one year of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment.

Kenneth Elliott, 33, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or a Drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Michael Price, 29, of Perrysville, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Darryl Shipp, 59, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an OVI/ALS Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine and to serve three days in jail.

Brenden Moore, 41, of Howard, was found guilty of Domestic Violence, Telecommunications Harassment and Menacing by Stalking on Sept. 20. Today he was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, and was placed on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment and complete the Court’s Hands Down program.

Kyle Zieschang, 35, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Domestic Violence and Assault on Sept. 6. Today he was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with 149 days suspended, and was placed on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete the Court’s Hands Down program and 20 hours of community service.

Director of Law, Rob Broeren, represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in the remaining cases.

OCT. 24

Kyle Stemmell, 24, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Without a Valid License. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Clayton Heinzerling, 22, of Powell, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of a Drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Olivia Briggs, 25, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.
