MOUNT VERNON — A May 23 Knox County Grand Jury indicted Logan W. Hart, Howard, on charges of attempted murder, a first-degree felony, and felonious assault, a second-degree felony. Both counts carry a firearms and forfeiture specification.
The grand jury also indicted Hart for discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises, a third-degree felony.
According to the indictment, the 20-year-old Hart allegedly fired a 12-gauge shotgun at another individual on May 16. The discharging a firearm specification stems from Hart recklessly discharging a firearm over a public road or highway, creating a substantial risk of physical harm to any person.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hart on May 25.
The grand jury indicted 16 other individuals on May 23:
•Jeremy Price, Holmesville, aggravated possession of drugs, third-degree felony
•John J. Kerin Jr, Mount Vernon, aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felony
•Joseph T. Mooney, Ashley, failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, third-degree felony
•John D. Ball, Danville, aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felony
•Cody J. Ramsey, Frazeysburg, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, fourth-degree felony; and failure to maintain reasonable control, minor misdemeanor
•Ashlynn D. Garretson, Mount Vernon, two counts of theft from a person in a protected class, one a fourth-degree felony and one a fifth-degree felony
•David L. Cross II, Mount Vernon, burglary, second-degree felony; and petty theft, first-degree misdemeanor
•Dana G. Menke, Mount Vernon, aggravated possession of drugs and aggravated trafficking in drugs, both second-degree felonies
•Steven D. Miller Jr., Mount Vernon, aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felony
•Robert A. Cantu, Mount Vernon, aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felony; and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, fourth-degree misdemeanor
•Daniel R.S. Sullivan, Mount Vernon, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, fourth-degree felony
•Tessa L. Akers, Howard, illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony
•Robert J. Pipes III, Utica, breaking and entering, fifth-degree felony
•Jerimiah C. Carpenter, Cardington, having weapons while under disability, third-degree felony; forfeiture specification
•John a. Price, Marengo, theft, fourth-degree felony
