FREDERICKTOWN — The two contenders for Fredericktown’s next superintendent are Gary Chapman and Jonathan Muro.
Chapman is the superintendent of Jonathan Alder Local School District in Plain City. Muro is the middle school principal in Madison Local School District in Mansfield.
Fredericktown board president Paul Napier announced the finalists during Tuesday’s board meeting. The board intends to make its decision next month.
Before then, on April 19, the district will host an event for community members to hear from the two final candidates, ask them questions and submit feedback for the board to take into consideration for its decision.
The board is no longer accepting community questions for the candidates, as the deadline to do so was Tuesday.
Napier said the board will review the questions submitted and select a few to pose to the candidates April 19. Not all questions submitted will be asked.
Chapman or Muro will replace the district’s interim supt. Jim Peterson, who took over Jan. 3, following the resignation of the district’s previous superintendent, Susan Hayward.
