MOUNT VERNON — The Yellow Jackets might be making a return trip to Newark for their tournament opener.

Mount Vernon (9-10) earned the No. 33 seed in the Division I Central District tournament draw and took an opening-round bye.

The Jackets will play either No. 5 Newark or No. 38 Teays Valley for a sectional title at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 on the higher seed’s home court. Newark (13-5) will host Teays Valley (7-11) at 7 p.m. Feb. 22.

Mount Vernon fell at Newark 63-29 on Jan. 8, part of a five-game losing streak. The Jackets then won four straight, but are in the midst of a three-game skid. Mount Vernon will host Ashland, Lexington and Northridge in its final three regular-season games. The Jackets are 6-2 at The Hive this season.

Division III

Knox Morrow Athletic Conference champion Centerburg earned the No. 5 seed in the Division III Central District draw and took an opening-round bye. The Trojans (15-2) will host either No. 7 Johnstown or No. 18 Amanda-Clearcreek for a sectional crown at 7 p.m. Feb. 26. Johnstown (11-7) hosts Amanda-Clearcreek (7-10) at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 in the sectional semifinals.

Fredericktown (10-7) earned the No. 13 seed and will visit No. 11 Utica (11-7) at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23.

Division IV

East Knox was the No. 3 seed in the Division IV Central District tournament and has a first-round bye. The Bulldogs will host either No. 13 Columbus Patriot Preparatory or No. 14 Delaware Christian for a sectional title at 7 p.m. Feb. 25. Patriot Prep (5-15) hosts Delaware Christian (6-13) at 7 p.m. Feb. 25.

No. 8 Danville (6-11) will play at No. 4 Columbus Tree of Life Christian (13-6) for a sectional title at 7 p.m. Feb. 25.
