FREDERICKTOWN — A three-hour search in sub-freezing temperatures has resulted in the arrest of 38-year-old Damian Miracle in a wooded area near Fredericktown, according to a Tuesday press release from Knox County Sheriff David Shaffer.

Miracle had been wanted on multiple felony warrants including felonious assault, authorities stated.

“The incident began around 5:30 a.m. with a call concerning a female that approached a residence on Knox Lake Road claiming she had been kicked out of a vehicle in the area,” Shaffer said.

When deputies arrived they located a truck that had been stolen from Mount Vernon in the driveway of the residence. The truck had been left there when it ran out of gas. Officers learned that the driver of the truck had fled the area on foot. The driver was identified by a witness as Damien Miracle.

At 7:46 a.m. a witness reported seeing a male walking on Armentrout Road southwest of Old Mansfield Road. A Knox Alerts message with the suspect’s description was broadcast. At 8:43 a.m. officers located Miracle walking in the driveway of a residence. He was arrested without incident.

The female has been identified as 36-year-old Jamie Allen from Fredericktown. She was transported to the Knox County Jail and is being held on a probation violation. Additional charges are likely, Shaffer said.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, along with officers from Danville and Mount Vernon Police assisted in the tracking and search for the suspect.
