Tami Sue Grogg, age 49, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was born on June 27, 1969 in Mount Vernon, Ohio the daughter of Frank Grogg Sr. and Carole (Baker) Grogg. Tami was a 1988 graduate of Fredericktown High School and was previously employed with Replex in Mount Vernon and most recently with Creative Foundations.
Tami served as past president of People First of Knox County, past secretary of People First of Ohio and proudly participated in the Special Olympics. She was a social butterfly and loved meeting new people. Tami was an active member of the Mount Vernon Gridiron Club and volunteered her Thursday nights to help others decorate the locker room for the Mount Vernon High School football team. It was her companionship and fellowship that made her a true gem to this world and she will be sadly missed by her family and many many friends.
She is survived by her brothers, Glenn (Renee) Grogg of Walhonding and Frank (Tracy Blubaugh) Grogg of Howard, a half-sister, Shelley (Rob) Blubaugh of Mount Vernon, nieces and nephews, Shelby Grogg, Jordan Grogg, Jared Grogg, Lani Blubaugh and Bree McFadden. She also leaves behind her extended family and friends at Concepts in Community Living and Creative Foundations.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Brad Beeman-Grogg and her step-mother, Linda Grogg.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Tami Sue Grogg.
Memorial contributions in Tami’s name may be made to The Center for Prader-Willi Syndrome at the Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh or Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
