The Ashland Arrows (5-1) were rated eighth in Division II Region 7 in this week’s OHSAA computer ratings. The OHSAA will publish computer ratings each week until October 28, following Week 10, when the playoff field is announced. The top eight teams in each region will make the playoffs.

Ashland junior quarterback Mitch Heilman accounted for 334 of Ashland’s 384 yards in its 41-13 win over Mount Vernon on Friday night. He threw for 248 yards and ran for 86, scoring three touchdowns. Ashland improved to 1-0 in OCC play while Mount Vernon dropped to 0-2.
