FREDERICKTOWN – This week’s matchup features two teams that are eager to break into the win column in Week 5.
Mount Gilead (0-4) will travel to Fredericktown (0-4) on Friday night to try to snap a 16-game losing streak that dates back to October 14, 2016. Meanwhile, the Freddies will look to record their first win of the season on Homecoming Night at Fredericktown Stadium.
This week’s Game of the Week video not only previews the KMAC battle between Mount Gilead and Fredericktown, but also highlights other key games around Knox County heading into Week 5:

While Fredericktown has lost by double digits each week so far this season, it has also faced a daunting early-season schedule. The young Freddies have battled three playoff contenders – Clear Fork (4-0), Pleasant (4-0) and Northmor (4-0) – in the first four weeks and have been shut out twice.
Led by first-year head coach Beau Wolford, the Freddies hope to turn the tide this week at home. They are anchored by quarterback Terry Fearn, who has thrown for 225 yards on 31-of-57 passing and has ran for 158 yards this season. Jack Fitzpatrick is the team’s leading receiver this year, having hauled in 14 catches for 153 yards.
Mount Gilead has been shut out three times this season, most recently by East Knox last week, 55-0. The Indians have lost by an average of 40 points per game this season.
The Indians returned four varsity letterwinners from last year’s 0-10 team, including senior tight end Mason Mollohan, who stands at 6-foot-5 and is featured prominently in their offense.
Fredericktown has won the last five matchups against Mount Gilead, including a 57-8 beatdown on the Indians’ home turf last year. The closest Mount Gilead has come to beating Fredericktown in recent memory was in 2016, when the Freddies won 35-28 in overtime.
