KNOX COUNTY – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office released a report on Tuesday morning that detailed an ongoing investigation into a string of burglaries that occurred in Eastern Knox County on Monday.
Sheriff’s deputies used witness information to generate a vehicle description while investigating several burglaries on Monday, which led two deputies to pursue a vehicle matching those descriptions in the area of Newcastle Road and Billman Road. Officers made contact with the driver and occupants of the vehicle after it pulled into a driveway on Billman Road.
Deputies arrested four people on Monday as part of the investigation: Cody S. Brengartner, 24 years old from Marblehead, Ohio on charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drugs; David D. Lagasse 22 years old from Oak Harbor Clinton, Ohio on charges of receiving stolen property; Joan M. Heintz 18 years old from Port Clinton, Ohio on charges of receiving stolen property; and Taylor M Gobmeier 19 years old from Marblehead, Ohio on charges of receiving stolen property.
All four suspects appear to be from Ottawa County, which sits 44 miles east of Toledo on the Lake Erie shore.
Knox County Sheriff David Shaffer noted in the release that the investigation is ongoing and that the suspects “appear to have targeted Amish residences in the Butler Township area.”
Deputies are looking for any additional victims and anyone with information is asked to contact the dispatch center at 740-397-3333 ext. 1.
