COLUMBUS — On June 4, the Ohio Hospital Association presented the American Hospital Association Grassroots Champion award to Bruce White, president and CEO of Knox Community Hospital. White is also chairman of the OHA Board of Trustees.
The award is given to individuals who have a strong track record in grassroots advocacy for his or her hospital and community and who communicates regularly with elected officials in the district or state and Washington, D.C.
“In the past year Bruce White has traveled to D.C. numerous times to meet with members of our congressional delegation and relay the hospital community’s advocacy messages,” John Palmer, director of media and public relations for OHA, told KnoxPages. “He takes his support for the Ohio Hospitals’ political action committee seriously and is effective in educating elected officials on how major issues affect hospitals’ vital role in the community.”
The OHA represents Ohio’s 220 hospitals and 13 health systems.
