MOUNT VERNON — Dr. Brent Nimeth, who practiced family medicine at 1220 Yauger Road, will no longer be working at his Mount Vernon office, according to a framed document on his office’s front desk authored by the American Health Network.

The document states that Nimeth is no longer employed with the American Health Network, but does not give a reason.

Statement issued by the American Health Network

The network states that they are “unaware of any plans he has for practicing in the near term.” The document states that Nimeth’s patients will be referred to the nurse practitioners currently working in that office — Ashlee Armstrong and Pamela Struder.

“Please understand that many patients are needing care and we want to prioritize and schedule those with the most immediate needs first,” the document states. “We apologize for any inconveniences this has caused.”

The network is in the process of finding another provider for the practice “to help us catch up with the backlog of patients waiting to schedule appointments,” according to the document.

The American Health Network was unavailable for comment on Monday. Nimeth’s page on the network’s website is currently inactive.

Mount Vernon Police Captain Scott McKnight said in an email that the police department does not currently have any open investigations regarding Nimeth.

Nimeth is listed as an affiliate of Knox Community Hospital, although hospital director of marketing and development Jeffrey Scott said he believes Nimeth has always operated independently from the hospital.

Nimeth is also listed as an employee of Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, although representatives from the hospital could not comment on his status in Mount Vernon.
