Mar. 16

  • Dwight D. Houck was westbound on E. Chestnut St. and Judith A. Clifton was following behind. Houck stopped for traffic and was struck by Clifton. Clifton was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Incident Reports

Mar. 16

  • At approximately 12:33 P.M. An officer was dispatched to a N. Mulberry St. residence on a complaint of theft. The complainant said their mailman advised them he witnessed a woman take a package from her front porch No suspects have been identified at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
  • At approximately 4:35 P.M. An officer responded to S. Rogers St. on a report of an abandoned vehicle on the property. The complainant said the vehicle belonged to her daughter’s ex-boyfriend and it had been on the property for more than one month. The complainant said she had given the ex-boyfriend and his family multiple opportunities to remove the vehicle. The officer called a tow truck and the vehicle was taken to the Mount Vernon Impound Lot.
  • An officer arrived at a Coshocton Ave. business on a report of a theft. It was reported that the female suspect, Sarah L. McGlone was refusing to come back into the after being confronted by the store’s Asset Protection Associate. McGllone subsequently left the area and was later found at her residence. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Knox County Jail. The merchandise, a 7 piece comforter set, was recovered and returned to the store’s inventory. Photographs of the merchandise were taken and a copy of the store’s video surveillance was provided.

Mar. 18

  • At approximately 1:48 A.M. Units responded to a fight on W. Ohio Ave. Terry Byrd was arrested for disorderly conduct with persisting.
  • At approximately 3:00 A.M. Units were dispatched to Follin Ave for a disturbance. The Mount Vernon Fire Departments also responded. Janice Ratliff was later arrested at Knox Community Hospital for disorderly conduct.
  • At approximately 2:30 P.M. An officer responded to a Howard St. business on a vandalism complaint. The suspect is unknown at this time. The investigation has been closed and will be reopened if a suspect is identified or any leads are developed.

  • Austin Gamble, 18, Murray Rd. was cited for no operator’s license.
  • Angela Alberts, 47, Coshocton Ave. was cited for driving under FRA suspension.
  • Kiersten Morrison, 36, Ontario, OH, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • Judith Clifton, 74, Delano St. was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
  • Sarah McGlone, 34, Columbus Rd. was arrested for theft.
  • Raymond Williams, 47, Ames St. was cited for driving under FRA suspension.
  • Jeremy Morris, 29, Upper Gilchrist Rd. was cited for driving jnder FRA suspension.

  • Johnnie Walker, 58, Martinsburg, was cited for a red light infraction.
  • Chris Estell, 17, E. Chestnut St. was charged on an outstanding arrest warrant.
  • Christopher Foss, 19, Walnut St. was cited for failure to display valid license plates.
  • Tina Corrigan, 45, Vernonview Dr. was cited for expired or unlawful plates.
  • Matthew Adams, 24, Danville, was cited for driving an unsafe vehicle.

  • Jessica Brandon, 24, W. Pleasant St. was cited for driving under FRA suspension.
