MOUNT VERNON — If your calendar is free and you’re feeling in a Valentine’s mood, swing by downtown Mount Vernon this Saturday for Second Saturday is for Valentines.

Second Saturday is for Valentines kicks off the winter program for Main Street Mount Vernon.
“There are a lot of fabulous local shops that have crafts and fun, warmer activities that you can come to in those shops,” Hyman said. “You want to come down and try these activities, look at the gifts and things they have available because we have really awesome creative shops in town.”
The following businesses will be participating in the February Second Saturday event: Black Walnut Holler, Coleman Family Gallery, Crickets on South Main, Jillian Vance studio + boutique, Kudos Art Co-op, and Nimby Acre Fiber Art. A few of the businesses will be hosting Valentine’s card-making and crafting events while other will be holding sales in anticipation of the holiday.
Second Saturday is for Valentines will be a family friendly event.
The Second Saturday series will continue in March with make-and-take classes. April will feature a gallery hop through businesses that sell and display art. The series will conclude with a ladies night out in May. The hours for each event will vary. Information about the latest events can be found on Main Street Mount Vernon’s Facebook page.
