Crash Report
Feb. 2
- Travis J. Kennedy was traveling eastbound on E. Vine St. and Bernard C. Durbin was traveling westbound on E. Vine St. Both units had the green light at S. Gay St. Kennedy turned northbound onto S. Gay St. and struck Durbin’s vehicle as it proceeded through the intersection. Kennedy was cited for improper turning at an intersection.
Feb. 3
- Kailin Matthew Horlacher was traveling westbound on Coshocton Ave. in the right hand lane and Candala J. Rogers was westbound on Coshocton Ave. and stopped for stalled traffic in the right hand lane. Horlacher failed to see Rogers stopped until the last minute and attempted to swerve to miss Rogers. This resulted in Horlacher sideswiping Rogers and causing minor damage to both vehicles. Horlacher was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
- Kelly D. Cox was parked facing northeast bound in a parking stall in the parking lot of a Coshocton Ave. Richard Overholt was stopped behind Cox and facing northbound in the travel lane of the parking lot. Cox began to back out of the parking stall and failed to see Overholt’s stopped vehicle struck it. Cox was cited for failure to control.
Feb. 4
- Heather J. Bogantz was traveling northbound on Newark Rd. and was attempting to enter a gas station parking lot. Bogantz was unable to control her vehicle because of her speed and struck the guardrail surrounding fuel pump number 8. She was cited for failure to control.
- Triston Bowens and Jamie Kirk were traveling eastbound on Coshocton Ave. Bowens changed lanes and struck Kirk. Bowens was cited for changing lanes without safety.
Incident Report
Feb. 2
- At approximately 4:45 A.M. an officer responded to a Chester St. residence in reference to a report of criminal mischief. When the officer arrived at the scene he spoke with the complainant who indicated his vehicle was damaged sometime over night. Damage was done to the driver’s side window. There are no suspects at this time.
- At approximately 12:18 A.M. a shoplifting was reported at a Coshocton Ave. business. The suspect was cited for theft.
- At approximately 11:28 A.M. an officer responded to a W. Curtis St. residence on a report of the theft of a laptop computer. When the officer arrived at the scene he spoke with the complainant who stated someone stole his laptop while he was asleep. A witness statement was taken and a report made.
- At approximately 10:00 P.M. two officers responded to an E. Hamtramck St. residence on a report of a disturbance. When the officers arrived they arrested one female suspect on domestic violence charges.
Feb. 3
- At approximately 10:57 A.M. an officer initiated a traffic stop on N. Gay St. at Hamtramck St. for expired registration. During the stop, drug abuse instruments and various substances suspected to be drugs were located. The items were taken and placed in the MVPD evidence locker. A report was made and sent to the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office for review. There is nothing further to report at this time.
- At approximately 2:17 an officer responded to a Coshocton Ave. business on a report of shoplifting. When the officer arrived, he met with the store’s loss prevention employee who had a female suspect in the office. The employee stated the suspect had attempted to remove $60.83 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for it. A report was taken and a witness statement was collected.
Feb. 4
- Officers were dispatched to a disturbance on Shirley Ave. When the officers arrived the occupants were identified and arrested for outstanding warrants and parole violation. Drug paraphernalia was located and the female occupant was issued a summons for possession of hypodermic needles.
- A female employee at a business reported to the MVPD she found what appeared to be drugs. The substance was found in an aisle and placed in to rear break room until police arrived. The items were collect by an officer and placed into the MVPD found property locker. A report was filed.

- Travis Brewer, 27, Walhounding, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
- Tiffany Rose, 41, Shirley Ave. was charged with theft.
- Travis Kennedy, 40, W. Gambier St. was cited for improper turning at an intersection.
- Stephanie Carson, N. Mulberry St. was arrested on an arrest warrant.
- Kelly Smith, 40, Martinsburg Rd. was cited for expired or unlawful plates.
- Nicole Byers, 27, E. Hamtramck St. was arrested and charged with domestic violence.
Feb. 3
- Michael Goines,34, Fredericktown, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant.
- Dustin McCoy, 38, Roosevelt Ave. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
- Benjamin Mason, 37, Ashland, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
- Randi Yacono, 30, Fredericktown, was charged with drug abuse.
- Kailin Horlacdher, 16, Mansfield Rd. was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
- Whitney Hester, 32, Zanesville, was charged with theft.
- Kelly Cox, 50, Centerburg, was cited for failure to control/weaving.
- Regina Banbury, 61, Delphos, OH, was cited for running a stop sign.
Feb. 4
- Sarah Deakins, 25, Columbus Rd. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
- Heather Bogantz, 21, Johnstown, was cited for failure to control/weaving.
- Rose Hayes, 51, N. Mulberry St. was arrested and charged with possessing drug abuse instruments.
- Ryan Gibson, 51, Shirley Ave. was arrested for probation violation.
- Triston Bowens, 16, Delano st. was cited for changing lanes without safety.
- Ericd Mather, 48, N. McKenzie Ave. was charged with driving under suspension/revocation.
