Crash Reports
- Jan. 29 – Virginia L. Totman and Robert E. Bowman were traveling westbound on Clinton Rd. Totman struck Bowman in the rear end. Totman then passed Bowman before coming to a final rest. Totman was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
- Jan. 29 – Danny Tallie was traveling northbound on North West St. and struck a vehicle owned by Amriah Ali Nagi which was parked on the west side of the street. Tallie then went left of center turning right into Livingston Alley for delivery. Tallie was unaware he had struck Nagi’s vehicle and left the scene. He was located later by reviewing nearby surveillance.
Incident Reports
- Jan. 29 – At 12:13 A.M. two officers made a traffic stop on an older blue/gray Ford Escort for one headlight. One of the officers made contact with the driver and when she opened the glove box to get her insurance and registration the other officer observed a small bag with a green leafy substance in it. The driver admitted it was marijuana and had forgotten about it for 4 months. The driver was given a warning about equipment and the marijuana was taken as found property.
- Jan. 29 – At 5:26 A.M. an officer was in the area of 500 N. Elm St. checking on a vehicle in the city impound lot. The officer noticed damage to one of the vehicles and noticed property hanging from the fence where it appeared someone had climbed over the fence. The Mount Vernon Police Department Detective Division was contacted and the case is under investigation.
- Jan. 29 – Officers responded to a W. Chestnut address for a disturbance complaint. While at the scene, the officer located an item of drug paraphernalia. The item was confiscated to be destroyed. No charges were filed and this investigation has been closed.
- Jan. 29 – An officer was dispatched to a W. Gambier St. address in reference to a theft. When the officer arrived he spoke to the home owner who explained property had been taken while he was out. The home owner requested a report be sent to the prosecutor for review.
- Jan. 30 – At 10:15 A.M. an officer responded to the police department in response to a phone call complaint of possible theft. The alleged missing property consisted of approximately 38 Clozapine pills and approximately 38 Lyrica pills both prescribed by Dr. Christopher Chiu. This report is not for the sole purpose of refilling the prescriptions. The investigation continues.

- Jan. 28 – Jadriana Fowler, 20, Northview Dr., was arrested for domestic violence and assault.
- Jan. 28 – Aaron Taylor, 44, W. Chestnut St., was arrested for possessing drug abuse paraphernalia.
- Jan. 28 – Angela Nunamaker, 36, Howard, was charged with theft.
- Jan. 29 – Robert Moore, 36, Cleveland, was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
- Jan. 29 – Virginia Totman, 78, Brookrun Ct., was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
- Jan. 29 – Jonathan Brown, 47, W. Burgess St., was cited for hazardous/no passing zones violation.
- Jan. 29 – Lee Cisler, 34, Fairgrounds Rd., was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
- Jan. 29 – Kevin Ford, 38, W. High St., was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
- Jan. 30 – Kayla Schaade, 29, Harcourt Rd., was cited for driving under FRA suspension.
- Jan. 30 – Juliana Runyon, 18, Gilchrist Rd., was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
