Crash Reports
- Jan. 19 – Germaine K. Darmstadt was parked on W. High St. and Marcia C. Rojas was stopped westbound on W. High St. in stalled traffic. Darmstadt began to back out of the parking spot and failed to see Rojas, striking her in the front-end. Both units left the scene immediately without making contact with each other. The crash was later reported from a secondary location. Both operators were spoken to and advised to contact their insurance companies.
- Jan. 19 – Trisha M. Messer was traveling southbound on Mansfield Ave. and Manli Huang was traveling eastbound on Belmont Ave. Huang turned northbound onto Mansfield Ave. having a green light. Messer failed to stop for the red light and struck Huang. Messer was cited for failure to stop at a red light.
- Jan. 19 – Tasha D. Granstorm was traveling westbound on E. Chestnut St. and stopped for a traffic light. Stephanie L. Woodring was also traveling westbound on E. Chestnut behind Granstorm. Woodring failed to stop and struck Granstorm. Woodring was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Incident Reports
- Jan. 19 – Offices wee dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business concerning a reported shoplifting. The business’ Loss Prevention Officer reported he had two shoplifters in custody. No other information available.
- Jan. 19 – At approximately 3:48 P.M. an officer was dispatched to 1330 Coshocton Ave. business on a reported theft. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the complainant. The complainant told the office his sister was in the hospital and his step-niece had her purse and would not return it. A report was taken.
- Jan. 19 – At approximately 7:17 P.M. an officer was dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, the store manager pointed out a maroon Pontiac pulling away with unknown individuals inside. The car made a right turn onto Coshocton Ave. and the officer pursued, making a traffic stop at Hilltop Dr. and Bradwack St. The officer explained the reason for the stop and the driver was aware. The driver, Taylor Kesman, was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail. The car’s passenger was released,
- Jan. 20 – An officer responded to a Coshocton Ave. business in reference to a theft complaint. When the officer arrived on the scene he spoke with the complainant who advised that a male who had leased property from them had not made a payment or had any contact with the business. The complainant said the property was a 65″ TV and an electric fireplace. This report will be forwarded to the county prosecutor for review.
- Jan. 20 – Units were dispatched along with the Mount Vernon Fire Department to a residence on Shalimar Dr. in reference to a drug overdose. The subject’s probation office was contacted and advised of the situation. A probation holder was placed on the subject. She was transported to Knox Community Hospital to be medically cleared. She was then transported to the Knox County Jail.
- Jan. 21 – Officers were dispatched to the area of 600 E. Ohio Ave. on the report of a suspicious vehicle. When the office located the suspicious vehicle he identified the passenger as Jazzmika Lynch. Lynch was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Mount Vernon Municipal Court. Lynch was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Knox County Jail. A search of Lynch’s car revealed the presence of drugs and drug paraphernalia. These were placed into evidence at the MVPD.
- Jan. 21 – An officer was dispatched to a N. Gay St. residence in reference to harassment. Upon arrival the officer spoke with the complainant and she advised there were issues of paternity testing. She then stated she would be going to Job and Family Services on Monday. No further investigation needed.
- Jan. 22 – An officer was dispatched to Foundation Park in reference to a vandalism complaint. When the officer arrived at the scene he spoke with the complainant who advised the padlock was broken off the elevator tower and the door had been kicked in. The complainant requested extra patrol in the area.
- Jan. 22 – An officer responded to a W. High St. business on a mental health transport. The subject involved refused to comply and was subsequently arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail. He was charged with disorderly conduct, persisting.
- Jan. 23 – An officer initiated contact with a male identified as Raymond Garrison, Jr. at a business on N. Sandusky St. Garrison was subsequently arrested for obstructing official business. During a search incident to the arrest, the officer found methamphetamine in Garrison’s pocket. Garrison was charged with obstructing and possession of a controlled substance. He was then transported to the Knox County Jail.

- Jan.18 – Jeremy Pursel, 31, McKenzie St., was arrested and charged with theft.
- Jan. 19 – Russell Copeland, 35, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. He was also cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
- Jan. 19 – Melissa McCutchen, 37, E. High St., was arrested for theft.
- Jan. 19 – Jonathen Flack, 44, Follin Ave., was arrested for probation violation.
- Jan 19 – Christopher Creech, 49, Johnstown Rd., was cited for driving under FRA suspension and driving under suspension/revocation.
- Jan. 19 – Angela Ervin, 44, Follin Ave., was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
- Jan. 19 – Trisha Messere, 47, Danville, was cited for a red traffic light violation.
- Jan. 19 – Stephanie Woodring, 56, E. Hamtramck St., was cited for assured clear distance ahead and driving/physical control while under the influence.
- Jan. 19 – Taylor Kesman, 23, N. Mulberry St., was arrested for theft.
- Jan. 20 – Teddy Hite, 36, Howard, was cited for driving under FRA suspension.
- Jan. 20 – Lucas Stagg, 365, E. Ohio Ave., was cited for expired or unlawful license plates.
- Jan. 20 – Kelsi Keener, 30, E. Vine St., was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
- Jan. 20 – Daniel Napsha, 19, Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, was cited for hazardous/no passing zone.
