MOUNT VERNON – KnoxPages.com and Richland Source of Mansfield, Ohio announced this week that the two online media companies have agreed to join forces. Richland Source purchased KnoxPages.com at the end of October, thus ensuring Knox County residents continued online access to important news about their communities.

Marty Trese has owned KnoxPages since June of 2012. In that time the site has grown to become Knox County’s respected source for online news. Trese will continue with Richland Source as an Account Executive, serving current and future advertising clients of KnoxPages. Editorial coverage will grow to include high school sports, as well as enhanced business, and community events coverage.

Trese said, “We are excited as KnoxPages.com moves to the next level with Richland Source. Readers will continue to enjoy the site’s popular features and a new format.”

Richland Source’s President, Jay Allred, emphasized what he sees as across-the-board benefits from the acquisition. The Ohio-owned local media company has been gradually expanding into neighboring media markets from their headquarters in Mansfield.

“We launched with the belief that here’s a gap in the market for constructive, forward-looking local news and marketing solutions. We spent the past couple of years figuring out the business and editorial model in Mansfield. Now that we’ve done that, we’re actively building a larger coverage footprint.”

“We are excited to cover all of the great organizations, companies, and people that live and work in the Mount Vernon/Knox County area.” Allred said. “We’re hopeful that they will find our brand of community news refreshing and energizing, and we are looking forward to serving these great communities.”

Launched in June 2013, Richland Source is a locally-owned online provider of community news and information. The Richland Source team serves audiences in Richland, Crawford, Ashland, and Knox counties through a variety of online platforms. Their innovative marketing solutions and constructive, forward-looking journalism are recognized as among the very best in the U.S.

KnoxPages.com began publishing in 2002. Also locally-owned, the staff at KnoxPages.com provides the citizens of Mount Vernon and Knox County with valuable news and community information through their recently re-designed web page and vibrant social media presence.
