FREDERICKTOWN – The third Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries store in Knox County opened Friday morning with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cuting, door prizes, free lunch and deals on new and used merchandise. A large crowd turned out on a cold, blustery morning to shop at the additional retail option dubbed Goodwill Plus at 16482 Village Parkway.
Vice President of Communications Lisa Baker told KnoxPages.com that the store provides 12 permanent jobs, 18 work there now. She said the company had been looking to expand in the area. Mount Vernon has two Goodwill stores. “The community has welcomed us with open arms,” said Baker.
Baker also said the store “thrives on donated items” but they do sell new items based on needs of the community.
