Accidents
On 9/23/16, a vehicle driven by Brian Weiser was southbound on Blackberry Alley when he backed up and struck the curbside causing damage to the lower left of the vehicle.
On 9/23/16. vehicles driven by Terry Welch and Andrea Lechleitner were backing out of their parking spaces at 1330 when they struck each other in the rear.
On 8/25/16, a vehicle driven by Jacob Williams was heading northeast on Columbus Rd. when it failed to stop and struck a vehicle driven by Katherine J. Beach in the rear.
On 9/26/16, a vehicle driven by Emily Nicol Lindsey was headed southbound on S. Main St. when it went off the roadway to the right in the area of Star Brite Car Wash. Striking a trash dumpster.
On 9/26/16, Vehicles driven by Thomas Smith, Jr. and Tara A. Dice were stopped northbound on S. Gay St. just south of E. Gambier St. Smith failed to maintain a stopped position and struck Dice’s vehicle in the rear end. Smith initially reported his brakes failed but later admitted his foot may have slipped off of the brake pedal and/or he just wasn’t paying attention.
On 9/27/16. while traveling southbound on Newark Rd. a vehicle driven by Jason Douglas Malawey struck a vehicle driven by Michael Cole while attempting to change lanes.
Incidents
On 9/24/16, officer spoke to a woman in the area of W. Curtis St. and Prospect St. and located a small bag of marijuana. The marijuana was taken and secured into evidence to be destroyed.
On 9/25/16, MVPD received a complaint of a traffic violation regarding school buses, The complaint was investigated and a citation was issued to the driver of the vehicle involved for failing to stop for a stopped school bus.
On 9/25/16, a employee of a business on Coshocton Ave reported a shoplifting at the business. He reported two juveniles had entered the business and removed merchandise without paying for it. The juveniles entered a vehicle and left the area. The juveniles were not located or identified.
On 9/25/16, Joshua Royster and Shannon Diaz were found passed out in a vehicle at a business on N. Sandusky St. Upon arrival and further investigation Royster and Diaz admitted they had used an illegal drug and drug paraphernalia was found inside their vehicle and on them. Both were arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail.
On 9/25/16, officers responded to West Vine St. in reference to a disturbance complaint. Several witnesses in the area stated they were drinking beer and listening to music when they heard a male and female arguing. Witnesses also stated they heard glass break. Upon arrival officer observed a couple arguing in the upstairs window. Officers made contact with the male, Jonathan Wesley at the front door. He appeared very upset and stated he was leaving. One of then officers also spoke with the female and observed multiple injuries to her back, face and arms. Wesley was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Knox County Jail.
On 9/26/16, an officer responded to Walmart at 1575 Coshocton Ave. in reference to a theft complaint. The complainant stated on 8/5/16 a former employee had pocketed cash from the register where she was working and also scanned in three iTunes cards without paying for them. The officer made contact with the employee over the phone and had her meet him at the MVPD. Officer watched the surveillance video and issued a summons to the employee.
On 9/27/16, a female reported a theft had occurred at her residence on Coshocton Ave. She stated her phone was placed on her front steps while she was doing an outdoor chore. When she returned to the steps, the phone was missing. She attempted to call the phone several times without getting an answer. There are no suspects at this time.

9/23 DPD received a call of a suspicious person outside of the Danville Municipal building. A male subject was found sleeping on the ground. Subject advised that he just finished work and was waiting for a ride when he fell asleep.

Traffic Complaint
9/23 DPD received a complaint of a possible OVI driver. Vehicle was located and found to have a flat rear tire. Vehicle was stopped and the driver appeared to be having a medical issue. Driver was transported to Knox Community Hospital by Danville Fire Department.
KCSO
On 9/27/16, a deputy was dispatched to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles on N. Sandusky St. on a rerport that a used syringe was found outside the BMV. Contact was made with one of the workers from the BMV who advised the deputy she located the syringe in the newspaper stand. The deputy took possession of the syringe and disposed of it in the sharps box at the KCSO.
On 9/27/16, a complainant stated there had been a theft from his pontoon boat that was docked at Knox Lake.
