Knox County law reports August 9, 2016

Just before 11:00 p.m. on Monday, the owner of a property on the 600-block of N. Sandusky Street reported finding drugs inside the residence. An officer collected a blue plastic tube and a white crystalline substance for safe disposal.

At 11:15 p.m. on Monday, an officer responded to a report of a drunk and disorderly person on the 400-block of N. Mulberry Street. The suspect’s mother indicated that her daughter was intoxicated.   Her mother had unsuccessfully attempted to revive the suspect by throwing cold water on her. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail.

At 11:50 a.m. on Friday, an officer collected for safe disposal a syringe found on the 600-block of N. Sandusky Street.
At 5:40 a.m. on Saturday, a victim reported the theft of a purse, a phone charger, twelve CDs, a checkbook, Social Security cards, a debit card, a driver’s license and $4.00 in cash from a vehicle parked overnight on the 1100-block of N. Mulberry Street. A suspect was identified.
At 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, a victim reported that someone had slashed the tires of his BMW and taken several items from his Toyota—including keys, loose change, and a pocket knife. Both vehicles were parked on the 1100-block of N. Mulberry Street.

Chealsie Loew, 24, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday for possession of drug abuse instruments.

Dayna Minder, 33, a homeless person, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. on Monday for persisting disorderly conduct.

Savanna McDonald, 21, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 11:15 p.m. on Monday for persisting disorderly conduct.

Hubert Wells, 37, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, for theft of a cell phone.
Danny Scott, Jr., 32, of Gambier was arrested at 9:35 a.m. on Friday for a probation violation.
Casie Carman, 28, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday on an outstanding warrant.
David Banks, 39, of Mount Vernon was charged at 2:15 a.m. on Sunday for misuse of the 911 system.
Bryan Bird, 29, of Mount Vernon was charged at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday for drug abuse and for possession of marihuana drug paraphernalia.

Brandon Ketter, 31, of Mount Vernon was cited at 6:50 a.m. on Monday for driving under a suspended license.

Rhonda Moran, 44, of Mount Vernon was cited at 6:00 p.m. on Monday for running a red-light.

Reginald Young, 37, of Mount Vernon was cited at 6:00 p.m. on Monday for operating a vehicle with expired or unlawful plates.

Mark Brown, 44, of Lancaster was cited at 6:30 p.m. on Monday for speeding.

Rick Miller, 26, of Zanesville was cited at 6:45 p.m. on Monday for driving under a suspended license.

Bethany Griffith, 37, of Mount Vernon was cited at 2:35 a.m. on Friday for driving under a suspended license.
Matthew Endicott, 44, of Bellville was cited at 2:55 p.m. on Friday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.
Michael Durbin, 64, of Mount Vernon was cited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday for failing to obey a traffic control device.
Dylan Carter, 23, of Mount Vernon was cited at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday for driving under a suspended license.
Ryan Slusser, 29, of Mount Vernon was cited at 6:40 a.m. on Saturday for driving under a suspended license.
Rodney Weikel, 33, of Gambier was cited at 9:40 a.m. on Sunday for failing to control his vehicle and for failing to stop after a crash on the street.
Chealsie Loew, 24, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday for possession of drug abuse instruments.

At 9:25 a.m. on Monday, Denise R. Murphy, 42, of Bellville was in her 2015 Chevy Cruze going through the drive-thru at the McDonald’s on Newark Road. Wendy J. Cremeans, 37, of Mount Venron approached from behind in her 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and rear-ended Murphy’s vehicle.

At 2:55 p.m. on Friday, Earl Cline, 52, of Mount Vernon was stopped in traffic heading northward on Newark Road in his 2002 Jeep Wrangler. Matthew Endicott, 44, of Bellville approached from behind in his 2003 Ford LTD and rear-ended him at the Martinsburg Road intersection. Endicott was cited for the incident.
At 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, Rodney Weikel, 33, of Gambier was traveling westbound on Coshocton Avenue in his 2015 Nissan Murano and attempted to pull into the Nazarene Church. As he did so, he struck a tandem bicycle, ridden by Arthur Crim, 61, of Mount Vernon. A witness observed U1 attempting to wipe evidence of the accident off of the passenger side of the vehicle. According to the report, an officer eventually located U1 inside the church and, after initially denying any involvement in the accident, Weikel admitted that he had struck Crim and attempted to hide it out of fear. He claimed that Crim had been in his blind spot and claimed also that his medication may have clouded his judgment and caused him to lie and hide the incident. The officer noted that he observed no signs of impairment. Crim was taken to Knox Community Hospital for treatment and Weikel was cited for the incident.
