MOUNT VERNON – Ariel-Foundation Park’s visitors have benefitted recently from the addition of two new positions for the Foundation Park Conservancy. Carrie Haver has been named the Executive Director for the Foundation Park Conservancy and Scott Zimmerman the Park Manager.

As Executive Director, Haver will oversee all marketing and promotions for the Foundation Park Conservancy (FPC) along with development of fundraising, giving and sponsorships. Working with the Park Manager, she will co-manage FPC events, such as the Free Concert Series, and all scheduling and reservations of private and public events held at Ariel-Foundation Park.

Zimmerman has fulfilled the position of Park Manager since the spring of 2016. Collaborating closely with the Parks Department he sees to the maintenance of Ariel-Foundation Park along with the facilities available for rent and public use. FPC improvement projects also fall to the Park Manger. Zimmerman, along with the Executive Director, co-manages FPC events as well as private and public events.

Ariel-Foundation Park, a unique 250-acre city park in the heart of Mount Vernon, has been the place to be since its grand opening July 4, 2015. Located on the rails to trails system connecting all of Ohio it has become a welcome destination. Its many features and active events schedule has drawn thousands of visitors. Haver and Zimmerman are a welcome addition to the Foundation Park Conservancy’s efforts to make Ariel-Foundation Park a focal point for recreation, entertainment, and social interaction in beautiful Knox County.
