MVPD

At 9:10 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to a possible burglary at a residence on the 900-block of W. 

High Street. A transmission line, thirty 220-volt oven/range replacement plugs, approximately 300 lbs of copper fittin

 gs in a wooden tool box, and approximately 100 lbs of copper wire were recovered from a shed on the premises.

At 10:00 a.m. on Friday, an officer responded to a trash / nuisance odor complaint on the 000-block of Harcourt Street. A suspect was identified.

At 11:05 a.m. on Friday, a resident filed a lost property report. A diamond engagement ring and a gold necklace with a heart-shaped diamond pendant were missing.

At noon on Friday, a resident of the 700-block of W. High Street filed a trespassing complaint. A suspect was identified.

At 4:25 p.m. on Friday, a victim reported that someone had stolen a cell-phone and cigarettes from her vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Just before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, an officer responded to a reported assault at a residence on the 1000-block of W. Vine Street. A suspect was identified.

At 8:50 p.m. on Friday, an employee of the First Merit Bank came to the MVPD to report the misuse of a credit/debit card.

At 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, a victim reported the theft of a Stihl leaf-blower from a vehicle parked in a lot on the 000-block of W. Vine Street. An air-compressor was later found missing from another vehicle in the same parking lot.

At 4:05 p.m. on Saturday, a victim reported that a tax return had been fraudulently filed in her name.

At 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, an officer responded to a report of a found hypodermic needle on the 200-block of N. Division Street. A resident found it in the bushes next to his home. The officer collected it as drug paraphernalia for disposal.

At 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, a victim reported the theft of a Samsung Galaxy S5 cell-phone from her apartment on the 700-block of Follin Avenue. A suspect was identified.

At 5:50 p.m. on Sunday, a mother requested an officer to make a report of her unruly daughter at Wal-Mart. Some makeup was recovered and the juvenile suspect was identified.

At 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, a victim reported the theft of an Xbox 360 and 8-10 video games from her residence on the 900-block of W. High Street.

At 9:55 a.m. on Friday, a Mount Vernon resident reported that her husband’s identity had been used to file a fraudulent tax return.

At 3:45 p.m. on Friday, a Mount Vernon resident reported that his identity had been used to file a fraudulent tax return.

At 5:25 p.m. on Friday, a Centerburg resident reported that her identity had been used to file a fraudulent tax return.

At 11:50 a.m. on Saturday, a victim reported the theft of items from her vehicle while it was parked outside her residence on Glenview Drive in Howard.  According to the report, the victim had been ill for five days and had not left her home.  When she went outside to get her check-book from her unlocked car, she discovered that it was missing.  She advised the deputy that her account was with the CES Credit Union and that she was unsure how to cancel her checks.  He called the credit union, spoke with a representative, and advised the victim on how to proceed.  The victim noted that she is also missing her driver’s license, $100 in cash, and other personal papers kept inside the check-book.

At 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, a victim reported that someone had vandalized her residence on Coshocton Road during the previous night.  Several holes had been shot into her home.

The victim informed deputies that she had heard a loud noise at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and thought it was a cat.  At 8:25 a.m. on Sunday, she saw wood chips on the floor and found a spent bullet.  The deputy observed a bullet-hole in the kitchen window frame and noted that the bullet had entered the residence and struck the kitchen counter.  A second bullet hole was found in a shutter just each of the first and a bullet had mushroomed on impact and lodged between the shutter and exterior wall.

The deputy checked along the roadway and found three spent .9 mm casings.  One had been struck by a tire and the other two were lying in the grass.

The bullets and casings were collected as evidence and sent for testing.  Photographs were taken of the incident location.

At 10:05 a.m. on Sunday, a victim reported that someone had stolen a 50cc four-wheeler from her porch on the 700-block of Smith Street during the previous night.  She described it as being blue with a five-hour motor.  BOLO information was passed along to other departments.
