Monday, 3/30, DPD responded to a minor injury auto crash in the area of the South Market and Washington Streets intersection. A vehicle driven by Rita Whitney, 65, of Howard went left of center striking a trailer being pulled behind a truck driven by Donald Simmons of Harrisburg, Va. Whitney was treated by the Danville Emergency Squad at the scene. Whitney was charged with Driving Left of Center.

Wednesday, 4/1, DPD responded to the 100 block of East Washington Street on citizen reporting while walking her dog, it was attacked by another dog. Incident is under investigation.

Wednesday, 4/1, DPD responded to the South Market Street area on report of a driver entering Danville who was tailgating another vehicle and flashing their lights on and off at them.

Incidents:
At 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, a wallet containing a driver’s license and Directions card was found on the 1000-block of Beech Street and turned over to the MVPD.
At 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a reported assault at a residence on Greer Street.
At 8:05 p.m. on Wednesday, a TSC employee contacted the MVPD to turn over a baggy containing ten green capsules. They had been turned in to the TSC by a customer. No cameras were in the area where the capsules were found and an officer placed them in the evidence locker for disposal.

Traffic Citations:
Julia Schultz, 50, of Mount Vernon was cited at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday for driving under a suspended license and for speeding. Her plates were confiscated.
Richard Pipes, 21, of Howard was cited at 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.
Samuel Stiner, 23, of Danville was cited at 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.

Accidents:
At 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Richard B. Pipes, 21, of Howard was traveling eastbound on Coshocton Avenue in his 2004 Ford F-150 but had stopped for traffic. Samuel J. Stiner, 23, of Danville approached him from behind in his 2012 Chevy Impala and struck Stiner’s vehicle. The impact caused U1 to accelerate. He struck a 2007 Chevy Silverado, driven by Timothy A. Wilson, 30, of Howard, which had been immediately in front of him and pushed it for more than 60 feet. Stiner and Pipes were both cited for the incident.
