MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Animal Shelter changed its adoption hours effective March 1st. The shelter is now open to the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The change will allow staff and volunteers to clean, walk and care for the dogs. The shelter will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to accept calls and to conduct the business of the shelter as usual.
A new website and Facebook page are being created to feature dogs ready for adopt and shelter news. KnoxPages.com each month will continue to feature dogs each month that have been at the shelter for more than two months and available at a reduced fee.
The Knox County Animal Shelter is located at 285 Columbus Road. Animal Control officers can be reached by calling 740-393-6713 during business hours or by calling the Knox County Sheriff’s office after hours at 740-397-3333.
