MOUNT VERNON – Principal Lynn Riggenbach spoke before the Board of Education on Monday and recognized Jennifer Lebold as Wiggin Street Elementary’s “Behind-The-Scenes” Volunteer for January 2015.
Lebold, who has two children enrolled at Wiggin Street, volunteers at the school virtually every day—assisting teachers, running copies, assembling student materials, and tutoring students on a regular basis. She also spends many hours each week working in the school bookroom and recently helped decorate the gym for the “Gingerbread Man” program presented by the kindergarten classes.

Riggenbach specifically pointed out the great contributions Lebold provides to Wiggin Street Elementary’s annual book fair. Lebold orders the books and materials for the event, sets up and stocks its shelves and tables, organizes volunteers to help throughout the week of the fair, and assists children and parents in their purchase of books to take home and to donate to the school for classroom use.
“We greatly appreciate all that Jennifer does for our students and staff,” Riggenbach added.
Lebold was unable to attend the Board of Education meeting to receive her award, but she will receive it promptly on the next day she volunteers.
