MOUNT VERNON – Knox County Prosecuting Attorney Chip McConville reported that three people were recently sentenced for felonies by Knox County Common Pleas Judge Otho Eyster.

On Monday, Eyster took a guilty plea from Travis Bonham, 29, of Mount Vernon, on a fourth- degree felony charge of receiving stolen property. In late July, Bonham was caught in possession of a 2004 Ford Taurus that had been reported stolen. Bonham waived a pre-sentence investigation in the case, and Judge Eyster immediately sentenced him to twelve months in prison with 25 days of jail time credit. The case was investigated by Patrolman Aaron Collins of the Mount Vernon Police Department.

On Friday, Conor Pollock, 21, of Danville, was sentenced in two separate cases. On a fifth- degree felony charge of vandalism, Pollock was sentenced to eleven months in prison and ordered to pay $225.25 in restitution to the victim. On a fifth-degree felony charge of endangering children, Esyter sentenced Pollock to a three year term of community control, 90 days in jail, and an 11 month suspended prison sentence. The sentences will be served concurrently. The cases were investigated by Mount Vernon Police Corporal Kyle Thiebert and Knox County Sheriff’s Office Detective Dan Bobo, respectively.

Also on Friday, Charles Hess, 46, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to 17 months in prison on a charge of attempted possession of chemicals for the production of methamphetamine, a fourth degree felony, and 11 months for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. The sentences will run concurrently. In May, a Mount Vernon resident called police to report that Hess was making methamphetamine, and police found evidence of methamphetamine production at his residence. Detective J.T. DeChant of MVPD investigated the case.
