MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Grand Jury indicted seven people on felony charges on Monday, according to Prosecuting Attorney Chip McConville.

Mark A. Banbury, 34, of Mount Vernon, was indicted on two counts of forgery, and two counts of receiving stolen property, all of which are fifth degree felonies. The indictment alleges that in early July, Banbury forged two checks stolen from a Mount Vernon resident. The checks totaled $960.00. The case was investigated and presented by Det. Tim Arnold of the Mount Vernon Police Department.

Caleb Vernon, 29, of Mount Vernon, was indicted on two counts of aggravated possession of drugs. The charges arose from a March incident where Vernon was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The first count of the indictment is a third degree felony and the second is a felony of the fifth degree. The case was investigated by MVPD Patrolman Mike Wheeler.

Jason Hogan, 20, of Mount Vernon, was indicted on two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The indictment stems from incidents in July of 2013 and January of 2014, where Hogan allegedly engaged in sex acts with a girl who was 15 years old at the time. Both charges are fourth degree felonies. The case was investigated by Detective Dan Bobo of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

Elizabeth Henderson, 51, of Newark, was indicted for having weapons under disability, a felony of the third degree. In June, Henderson is alleged to have purchased a .357 revolver after having been released from a commitment to Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. The case was investigated by MVPD Detective Sgt. Matt Dailey.

Kristi L. Plank, 40, of Grafton, was indicted on two felony counts of aggravated vehicular assault

and underlying misdemeanor charges of OVI. On August 10, Plank was allegedly operating a

vehicle while intoxicated on South Main Street in Mount Vernon. She allegedly caused a crash

with another vehicle that resulted in serious physical harm to its occupants, Lori Bales of Mount

Vernon, and Christopher Hartley of Newark. The case was investigated by MVPD Patrolman

Rex Young.

Christopher L. Goudy, 23, of Mount Vernon, faces a charge of fifth degree felony vandalism for allegedly causing damage to the Five Points Carryout on July 20. MVPD Corporal Kyle Thiebert presented the case.

Misty M. Perry, 34, of Brinkhaven, was indicted on two fifth degree felonies, misuse of credit cards and theft. Perry allegedly charged more than $1,000 in goods and services on a card she knew to be stolen. The case was presented by KCSO Detective James Ferenbaugh.

Arraignments for those indicted by the Grand Jury will occur on Friday, September 5 in Knox County Common Pleas Court.
