At 9:15 a.m. on Monday, an employee of the Mohican Wilderness park reported that, at some time overnight, someone had used their John Deere skid-loader and damaged their building.  The skid-loader was parked in front of the window with the boom raised and the front-windshield busted out.  The complainant told the deputy that it had been parked next to the building with the keys inside.  The building appeared to have been struck several times and had sustained complete structural damage.

Photos were taken of the loader and the building.  Two Bud Light cans were retrieved from inside the loader and collected as evidence—to be checked for fingerprints.  The skid-loader was on loan from Shearer Equipment and they were notified of the damage.

At 6:15 p.m. on Monday, Samuel A. Mitchell, 40, of Howard, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.  He was handcuffed and taken to Knox County Jail without incident.

At noon on Tuesday, a resident of the 600-block of Baldwin Heights Circle in Howard reported that someone had broken out the rear passenger window of his Jeep while it was parked overnight outside his home.  Among the missing items were a set of custom-made golf clubs.  A witness reported that he had seen what he believed to be a white older-model Cadillac parked near the location but it had left the area and headed toward Apple Valley Drive when he turned on a porchlight at around 2:00 a.m.
