MOUNT VERNON – If your child is hoping to play fall sports and still needs to get a physical exam to do so, the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile can help when it visits the Knox County Health Department on July 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are not necessary, but you can request a specific time by calling the health departmentcommunity clinic at 399-8009.

The care mobile is a doctor’s office on wheels, complete with a full-time doctor, a registered nurse and medical technician. In addition to sports physicals, the care mobile can provide physical exams for school, well-care visits, immunizations and sick-child appointments for children from birth to age 21.

There is a cost for a visit to the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, but parents canpresent their insurance or medical card to pay for services. No child will be turned away due to a family’s inability to pay. If a child has already received services at Nationwide Children’s Hospital or any of the neighborhood Nationwide Children’s Hospital clinics, the child’s information is already in the network.

When at the health department, the care mobile will be parked on the south side of the health department and will be visible from Coshocton Rd. You do not have to come into the health first to visit the care mobile, but you can come in before the visit to pick up paperwork to be completed.

The care mobile returns to the health department on Aug. 19 for its last visit of the summer.
