MOUNT VERNON – This Friday, July 11, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. the Mayor will hold a news conference in Council Chambers in City Hall, 40 Public Square, Mount Vernon, to announce the appointment of the new Mount Vernon Police Chief. A swearing in ceremony will take place immediately following the news conference.
Two candidates for the Chief position took the test but only one passed, Roger Monroe. The city has been without a permanent police chief since last year.
