Looking for the Jackalope is a darkly comedic cautionary tale about Jordan Sterling, a struggling New York writer who is stuck in the past. After a surprise phone call from his old college girlfriend inviting him to their class reunion, Jordan embarks on a comically ill-fated hitchhiking trek in an attempt to reunite with his old flame and rediscover his youth. Instead, he comes face to face with his own worst demon, a living, breathing Jackalope, who teaches him a powerful lesson about living in the past.
Ever find yourself yearning for the more carefree and romantic adventures of your past? Day to day life has become repetitive and lost it’s spontaneity? Maybe you hear a song or see a picture that reminds you of someone or some place long ago. That’s really what this movie is about. It’s about the lure of nostalgia and how it can sometimes lead us down the wrong road and prevent us from living life in the present.
