FREDERICKTOWN – It was a day ten years in the making Wednesday as ground was broken for the new location of Fredericktown Chevrolet on Bollinger Road. Owner and President John Walsh welcomed elected officials, employees, family, friends and customers to the event presided over by Knox Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Carol Grubaugh. The ceremony began with the reading of a proclamation from Congressman Bob Gibbs read by Gibbs’ district director Dallas Gerber. The proclamation recognizes Fredericktown Chevrolet for having a Better Business Bureau rating of A+ and a six time winner of the GM Mark of Excellence. Congratulatory remarks were then given by County Commissioner and former Fredericktown Mayor Roger Reed and current Mayor Alan Kintner.

Walsh also thanked General Motors and Chevrolet and noted the first car he sold was a 1981 Chevrolet Citation and the 2015 model year will be his 35th year in the car business. Finally, Walsh thanked his family and his customers.
