MOUNT VERNON- The Mount Vernon Fire Department is teaming up with Interchurch Social Services of Mount Vernon to help elderly and financially strapped families beat the summer heat. They are seeking donations of new or gently used fans and window air conditioners.
Donations can be dropped off any time at the Main Fire Station, 200 West Gambier Street. Monetary donations can be made to Interchurch Social Services, and specify “fan drive” in the memo line. Interchurch Social Services will be dispersing the donated items.
