Clayton S. Hall, 41, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 8:40 p.m. on Sunday with using a firearm while intoxicated.

Ethan T. Miller, 20, of Mount Vernon was charged back in July with contributing to the unruliness of a child.

Denny W. Dilldine, 39, of Mount Vernon was picked up just after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday on an outstanding warrant.

 

Traffic Citations

Keith A Duty, 30, of Mount Vernon was cited at 1:50 p.m. on Friday for driving under a suspended license.

Marie L. Duty, 28, of Mount Vernon was cited at 1:50 p.m. on Friday for wrongfully entrusting a motor vehicle.

Jessica L. Smith, 23, of Mount Vernon was cited at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and for failure to control her vehicle.

Samantha M. Mele, 19, of Howard was cited at around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday for operating a vehicle with fictitious plates.

 

Accidents

At about 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, Jessica L. Smith, 23, of Mount Vernon was driving eastbound on Calhoun Street in her 2006 Pontiac, approaching the Mansfield Avenue intersection.  In passing, she sideswiped a 2002 Chevy Suburban which was parked along Calhoun Street facing west.  The impact knocked the parked vehicle into the side of the owner’s residence.  Smith was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and was cited for the incident and her vehicle was impounded by Blubaugh’s Garage.

 

Incidents

At around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, a domestic disturbance was reported at an apartment on the 500-block of W. Vine Street.  Suspects were identified and several items of drug paraphernalia—including a marijuana grinder and a glass pipe with marijuana residue—were recovered at the scene.

At around 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, someone turned in a small ziplock bag containing a white substance to the Mount Vernon Police Department.

At 8:50 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a residential alarm on Fairway Drive. The investigation continues.

Just after noon on Saturday, an officer was dispatched to handle a syringe found lying in the roadway at the intersection of W. Vine and Adams streets.  It was taken to the police station to be destroyed.

Just before 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to an alarm at the Salvation Army on E. Ohio Avenue.  Everything appeared secure and the alarm had been triggered by mistake by an employee.   It was later reported that $200.00 in cash had gone missing and suspect was identified.
