MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Orange Sox 11u team brought home a sixth-place finish at a Columbus tournament last week.
The Ohio State Championship tournament at Lou Berliner Sports Park in Columbus is the largest state tournament in the United States.
The Mount Vernon Orange Sox competed with 48 other 11u teams.
Mark Poland, Luke McMillen, Corey Cline, Tyler Berger, and Justin Shaw coach the team, which has an overall record of 29-9 this season.
The team will wrap up its season this weekend, competing in the Mansfield Mini-Monster tournament at Greenwich Reservoir Park in Greenwich.
Mount Vernon will take on the Ashland Racers on June 27th at 10 a.m. The bracket play will begin on Sunday, June 28th.
