MOUNT VERNON – The Heritage Centre Association and the Mount Vernon small business community are proud to take part in Small Business Saturday, also called “Shop Small Saturday,” on Saturday, Nov. 30. Created by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses nationwide. Celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the day has given small businesses across the country a huge boost.
“I encourage everyone to come out and support locally owned and operated businesses by shopping, especially for those unique holiday gift items. Kick off your holiday shopping season right here,” said HCA downtown manager Carrie Crouch. “There are so many wonderful places and people to get to know in our town. Consumers will enjoy top notch customer service, friendly store staff and a one-of-a-kind holiday environment.”
Here are just a few of the special discounts and activities happening downtown on Shop Small Saturday:
- SPI Spot (Science Playspace Initiative) will have a free open house.
- AAA – Purchase one membership, get one free (must be new memberships).
- Herald’s Appliances and Electronics – Black Friday deals will continue all weekend. The entire store will be on sale.
