Columbus – Sgt. Mark A. Leach was promoted to the rank of lieutenant Tuesday by Colonel Paul A. Pride, Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Academy. Lt. Leach will transfer from his current assignment as an assistant post commander at the Granville Post to serve as the commander of the Mt. Gilead Post
Lt. Leach began training as a member of the 124th Academy Class in January 1993. He earned his commission in June of that year and was assigned to the Chillicothe Post. As a trooper he also served at the Jackson, Athens and West Jefferson Posts, as well as the Columbus District Headquarters and the Patrol’s Training Academy, where in 2008 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. In May 2011 he transferred to his most recent assignment as an assistant post commander at the Granville Post.
