Jerry Tinsley, 21, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 10:45 a.m. on Saturday with possession of drug paraphernalia and with possession of a controlled substance.

Kyle L. Fawcett, 18, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 1:10 p.m. on Saturday with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Michael Duane Hayes, 42, of Mount Vernon was charged just after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday with an open container violation.

Caleb L. Vernon, 28, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ian C. Pearce, 34, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday was picked up for an outstanding warrant.  He was charged also with resisting arrest and obstruction.

Anthony Bayog, 40, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday for driving under a suspended license.  He was charged also with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Franklin D. Campbell, 56, of Mount Vernon was charged at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday with persistent disorderly conduct.

Brian A. Hudson, 32, of Columbus was charged at around 1:45 p.m. on Friday with petty theft at the Knox Community Hospital.

Logan P. Hall, 21, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday with criminal damaging and criminal trespassing at a residence on the 1200-block of W. Chestnut Street.

Brian McConnell, 28, of Newark was charged at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday with failure to comply.

Leah M. Piper, 29, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 1:10 p.m. on Saturday with possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Traffic Citations

Tracy A. Leffler, 53, of Mansfield was cited just before 10:00 a.m. on Monday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.

Anthony Bayog, 40, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday for driving under a suspended license.  He was charged also with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kevin Quebedo, 44, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 5:40 a.m. on Saturday for failing to control his vehicle.

Brian McConnell, 28, of Newark was cited at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday for speeding.

Stephanie Tucker, 28, of Gambier was cited at around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday for driving under a suspended license.

William Frum, Sr., 64, of Howard was cited at around 12:20 p.m. on Saturday for speeding.

Jill Clark Rako, 44, of New Albany was cited at just after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday for speeding.

Adrena L. Shoffner, 39, of Columbus was cited at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday for driving under a suspended license.

Stephen L. Lanning, 21, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 9:15 p.m. on Monday for driving under a suspended license.

 

Accidents

Just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Kevin J. Quebedo, 44, of Mount Vernon was traveling westbound on Northridge Drive in his 1997 Ford Ranger.  George R. Frye II, 48, of Fredericktown was heading north on N. Mulberry Street in his 2004 Dodge Stratus.  Frye stopped at the stop-sign at the Northridge Drive intersection.  Quebedo attempted to turn left onto Mulberry Street and struck Frye’s vehicle.  Quebedo was cited for the incident and for failing to devote full time and attention to the road.

 

Incidents

At 1:00 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to an alarm at the Kwik-n-Kold on Coshocton Avenue.  He found that a window pane on the west side of the building had been broken inward.  Several items, including the window pane with a suspected bloodstain and two DNA swabs of suspected blood were collected as evidence.

At 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, an officer responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 200-block of N. Clinton Street.  A 4’x8’ custom trailer was involved and a suspect was identified.

Just after noon on Friday, someone turned in an Ohio license plate found along the 100-block of W. High Street.

At 1:00 p.m. on Friday, an individual reported finding a gun on the 000-block of Fairway Drive.  Recovered at the scene was a Harrington and Richardson .32 caliber revolver, four .32 caliber bullets and one large caliber bullet.

At 2:30 p.m. on Friday, a victim reported that her iPod Touch had been stolen at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

At around 1:45 p.m. on Friday, employees reported a shoplifter to the MVPD.  A suspect was identified and charged and several items—including three Sandisk micro-SD cards and two Bolt 3.0 Bluetooth ear pieces—were recovered.

At 9:45 p.m. on Friday, officers arrived at an apartment on Cliff Street in response to a report of an intoxicated person who might need medical attention.  A suspect was identified and charged with persistent disorderly conduct.

At 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, a Brian McConnell was pulled over for speeding and was arrested for failing to comply with a lawful order of a police officer.  His 1992 Oldsmobile was inventoried and towed to the Howard Street Garage.  A metal container containing a small amount of marijuana was collected as evidence.

Just after 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, a burglary-in-progress was reported at a residence on the 1200-block of W. Chestnut Street.  A suspect attempted to enter through a sliding glass door but was identified and charged.   Recovered at the scene was a chain dog-leash, a Ziplock bag with white residue, and part of a cellophane cigarette wrapper with white residue.

Just before 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a residence on the 300-block of N. Main Street.  A suspect was identified and the investigation continues.

Just after 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment on the 600-block of W. Vine Street.  A suspect was identified.  Items collected as evidence at the scene included a bong, two electronic scales, a small plastic bag of marijuana, two bowls, a grinder, and other drug paraphernalia.

At around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, a victim reported that a suspect had removed several light fixtures and electrical outlets from the walls of an apartment on the 900-block of Harcourt Avenue.  A suspect was identified.

Just before 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a complaint about an odor of marijuana at an apartment on the 100-block of Howard Street.  A pill bottle that had been used to store marijuana was recovered at the scene and a suspect was identified.

At around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, a Harrison Avenue resident reported finding two bicycles on his property.  The mountain bikes were taken into police custody.

Just after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, the MVPD was contacted regarding a disturbance at the South Point Sunoco on Newark Road.  A suspect was identified and charged with inducing panic and an open-container violation.

At 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, an employee of the Duke & Duchess Shoppe reported that someone had driven off without paying for $35.00 worth of gasoline.

At around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, a resident of the 300-block o f W. Curtis Street reported that someone had left a boy’s Huffy bicycle in his yard.  Police took it to the bike garage on N. Elm Street.

At around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of an unsecured residence on the 700-block of Follin Avenue.

At 1:10 p.m. on Saturday, an Ohio license plate was found on Coshocton Avenue.  Its owner was identified but could not be reached.

At around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a complaint of an unruly juvenile at a residence on W. Sugar Street.

Just after 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to an alarm on the 700-block of N. Main Street.

Just after 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, an officer responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on the 600-block of N. Mulberry Street.  Among the missing items were a black leather Fossil watch, a field-green Hamilton watch, a pair of North Carolina blue retro Nike Air Jordans, and a grenade-shaped bottle of weight loss pills. The total value of the items was estimated on the report at $16,226.00.  A suspect was identified.
