Arrests and Charges:
Michael Simmons, 37, of Mount Vernon was charged at 9:20 p.m. on Sunday with possession of a controlled substance on the 200-block of W. Ohio Avenue. He was cited also for operating a vehicle with an expired registration.
Christopher T. Castaneda, 20, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 11:15 p.m. on Monday with underage consumption of alcohol at a residence on the 100-block of N. Mulberry Street.
Shilo L. Smith, 19, of Mount Vernon was also charged at around 11:15 p.m. on Monday with underage consumption of alcohol at a residence on the 100-block of N. Mulberry Street.
Dustin A. Durst, 20, of Mount Vernon was also charged at around 11:15 p.m. on Monday with underage consumption of alcohol at a residence on the 100-block of N. Mulberry Street.

Incidents:
Just before 1:30 a.m. on Monday, an officer on patrol noticed that the plywood blocking the back stairwell at 214 W. High Street had been pushed in. When backup arrived, officers entered the building and searched it. Finding no one inside, they left and arranged for the day shift to contact the building’s caretaker and inform them of what they found.
At 5:40 a.m. on Monday, an officer responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on the 000-block of McGibney Road.
At about 4:20 p.m. on Monday, a father reported that his son had been assaulted. A suspect was identified.
At around 7:15 p.m. on Monday, a resident of the 000-block of Clarence Court reported a burglary at her evidence. Several Wii games—including Mario Kart—were missing.
At 6:15 p.m. on Monday, a resident of the 200-block of Ames Street reported a burglary at her residence. Among the items taken were an iPod Nano and various women’s hygiene products. A suspect was identified.
At around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, an officer contacted a resident of the 100-block of N. Mulberry Street regarding a missing juvenile. In the process, several suspects were charged with underage consumption of alcohol.
At about 11:45 p.m. on Monday, a resident of the 400-block of N. West Street came to the MVPD to report an incident of domestic violence.
