Traffic Citations:
James C. Cyrus, 49, of Mansfield was cited at around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday for making an improper turn.
Layken Purdy, 18, of Howard was cited at around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday for failing to control her vehicle. She was charged also with leaving the scene of an accident.
Arrests and Charges:
Travis Ratcliff, 33, of Mount Vernon was charged last Friday (9-06-13) with petty theft from Wal-Mart.
Accidents:
At around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, Layken S. Purdy, 18, of Howard was backing her 2003 Mitshubishi Expo out of a parking space in the CVS parking lot. Across the aisle, Shalissa M. Hunter, 21, of Centerburg was backing her 1997 Honda CRV out of a parking spot. The two collided and Purdy left the scene. Purdy was cited for the incident.
Incidents:
At around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, an employee of the Duke & Duchess Shoppe reported that someone drove off without paying for $37.51 worth of fuel.
At around 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, a parent reported that her son had been assaulted on the 700-block of Follin Avenue. A suspect was identified.
Just after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, a middle school student reported that she had been harassed at school. A suspect was identified.
At around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, a victim reported that his 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee had been vandalized while parked outside a residence on the 300-block of W. Burgess Street. Its front windshield had been broken.
Just before midnight on Thursday, a complainant reported a missing child support check made out for $75.00.
