Arrests

Alex McGough, 22, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday for driving under a suspended license.

Thomas B. McCament, 40, of Mount Vernon was cited just before 5:00 a.m. on Friday for driving under an expired registration.

Jonathon E. Hinger, 22, of Mount Vernon was picked up at 12:50 p.m. on Friday on an outstanding warrant.

Lisa Wantland, 27, of Mount Vernon was arrested just before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday for a parole violation at the Duke & Duchess Shoppe.

Jeremiah S. O’Neil, 27, of Mount Vernon was charged at 1:40 a.m. on Sunday with a parole violation.

Tyler R. Figzer, 19, of Gambier was charged at 3:30 a.m. on Monday with underage consumption of alcohol.

Jeffery A. Church, 19, of Mount Vernon was also charged at around 3:30 a.m. on Monday withunderage consumption of alcohol.

Roy E. Hall, 42, of Centerburg was cited at 12:20 p.m. last Saturday (8/24/13) for changing lanes without insuring it was safe to do so.

Terry Wilkinson, 44, of Mount Vernon was cited at 5:40 p.m. on Monday for persistent disorderly conduct.

William N. Strouse, 44, of Mount Vernon was picked up at 7:40 p.m. on Monday for an outstanding warrant.

Kenny Wingler, 29, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 8:45 a.m. on Monday for running a stop-sign.

William Atherton, 34, of Mount Vernon was charged at around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday with petty theft.

Johnathan D. Persinger, 21, of Johnstown was charged at around 10:40 p.m. on Saturday with persistent disorderly conduct.

Sata Lynn Contele, 27, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 3:30 p.m. on Friday for driving under a suspended license.

Sierra N. McGinnins, 19, of Howard was cited at 10:15 a.m. on Friday for driving a vehicle with expired registration tags.

Aaron Wolfe, 33, of Mount Vernon was charged at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday with resisting arrest.

Robert L. Hart, 28, of Mount Vernon was cited at 9:40 a.m. on Thursday for driving a vehicle without adequate child-safety restraints.

 

Accidents

At around 5:40 a.m. on Monday, Chad Chenault of Mount Vernon was traveling northbound on N. McKenzie Street in a city-owned work-truck when he struck an unoccupied and legally-parked 1998 Ford Taurus owned by Christopher A. Camp of Mount Vernon.

 

Incidents

Just before 5:00 a.m. on Friday, an officer was speaking with two pedestrians on N. McKenzie Street when he observed a suspicious vehicle.  He had dispatch run the license plate and it was listed as having expired in September 2011.  Another officer stopped the vehicle at Frog Dog’s on Coshocton Avenue.  The vehicle was impounded by Howard Street Garage and taken to their impound lot.  The driver was cited for expired plates.  The plates were taken from the vehicle and, upon checking, were determined to belong to a woman who passed away in October 2011.  The driver claimed that she had been his wife.

At 6:15 a.m. on Friday, a victim reported a theft from her vehicle while it was parked outside a medical facility on the 1600-block of Yauger Road.  Among the items taken from it were a pink cloth purse containing the vehicle’s ignition key.  A suspect was identified.

At around 11:20 p.m. on Friday, a victim reported that the driver’s-side window of her 2004 Hyundai Elantra had been vandalized while parked on the 100-block of Rogers Street.  A suspect was identified.

At 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, an assault involving the alleged theft of a cell phone was reported on Howard Street.  A suspect was identified.

At 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, an employee of the Duke & Duchess Shoppe on Coshocton Avenue reported that someone had pumped $30.00 worth of unleaded gasoline into a maroon SUV and drove off without paying for it.

At 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, the MVPD was contacted regarding a missing thirteen-year-old child.

At 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, a fight was reported in a yard outside a residence on the 300-block of Locust Street.  Suspects were identified.

Just before 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, a foster parent reported an unruly juvenile.

At around 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, Jonathon Persinger was arrested for disorderly conduct.  Alcohol was involved.

At 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, a resident turned in a social security card and credit card that he had found on the 100-block of Mulberry Street.

Just before 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, a victim reported a burglary at an apartment on the 200-block of W. Gambier Street.  Among the missing items were a Samsung cell-phone charger, a Playstation and several games (including two Batman games, Rainbow Six, Vegas 2, Sim 3 Pets, NBA 2K11, and Ghost Recon), and $400 in cash that had been hidden inside a cell-phone box.

At about 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, an officer responded to a report of child endangerment at a resident on the 600-block of E. Chestnut Street.  A suspect was identified.

At around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, an employee of Jake’s Restaurant reported that she was being harassed by a customer at her place of employment.

At 5:40 p.m. on Monday, a resident of the 600-block of W. Vine Street reported that an individual came into her yard and caused a disturbance.   The suspect was identified.

At around 7:15 p.m. on Monday, a victim reported that his bicycle—a blue men’s bike with a book basket in the rear—had been stolen from his residence on the 300-block of Calhoun Street.
