July 14

  • A deputy was dispatched to Ball Rd., Centerburg on a report of a burglary. When the deputy arrived, he spoke with the complainant and his wife. The complainant said he found his woodworking shop had been broken into on 7-14-20 and items were missing. The complainant gave the deputy an itemized list and a report was made. The items were entered into the stolen database.
  • The complainant contacted the KCSO in reference to his boat trailer being missing from the Apple Valley Marina. The trailer was entered as stolen. A report was made.

July 16

  • A traffic stop was made on a motorcycle for not having tail lights or a license plate. During the traffic stop it was discovered the suspect had a suspended driver’s license and no motorcycle endorsement. Additionally, it was discovered the motorcycle had been reported stolen in Coshocton County on July 13, 2020. The suspect, Dalton W. Smith, was arrested and during the search, an uncapped needle was found in Smith’s right front pocket. Smith was transported to Knox County Jail and once at the jail, a plastic bag of methamphetamine was discovered in the backseat of the cruiser. Smith has been jailed on charges of aggravated possession of drugs, receiving stolen property, possession of drug abuse instruments and driving under suspension.
