MOUNT VERNON β A collective of arts organizations in Mount Vernon, OH announced today the lineup for the Mount Vernon Presents 2023 Arts Season.
Acts for the year include an intimate performance with American country and bluegrass performer Marty Stuart, an American classic stage show, tribute artists, country music singer-songwriter Pam Tillis, and holiday celebrations.
The lineup also includes a three-day family-friendly music and arts festival with a headline concert by famous 1980s rock band Starship featuring Mickey Thomas.
βAll of the partners have been working very hard behind the scenes on our combined season, and weβre thrilled to share the news with the public,β said Martin Booker, executive director of the Mount Vernon Arts Consortium. βEach organization is dedicated to providing high-caliber talent for our region, and demonstrating to people that Mount Vernon is a true entertainment destination.β
Several arts partners hold long-standing roots in the area, including one organization for more than 100 years. The Community Concert Association of Knox County is a membership-based organization that hosts six shows annually featuring regional and national musicians of a variety of genres and has done so since 1919.
Another is MTVarts, an all-volunteer, non-profit community theater company with proven success in providing quality, affordable entertainment to the community for nearly 20 years.
Finally, the Mount Vernon Music and Arts Festival is in its fourth decade of presenting a celebration of the arts and creating a long-lasting cultural impact by uniting artists and audiences within the historic backdrop of Mount Vernon, Ohio.
The Mount Vernon Arts Consortium, established in 2020, supports arts and entertainment efforts in the county alongside key community partners to strengthen the local economy, cultivate meaningful arts relationships, and assist with amplification of three key historic venues:Β the Knox Memorial Theater, Ariel-Foundation Park, and the Woodward Opera House.
The Mount Vernon Presents 2023 Season partnerships serve to elevate customer and visitor experiences and amplify exclusive arts and cultural opportunities in Mount Vernon.Β
