Arrests and Charges:

Carly Visintine, 18, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday for domestic violence.

Dalton Smith, 20, of Mount Vernon was also arrested at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday for domestic violence.

Christian Elwood, 21, of Fredericktown was arrested at around 5:15 p.m. on Friday for shoplifting at the Kroger.  He was charged also with a probation violation.

Stenia McQueen, 30, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday for persisting disorderly conduct.

Emily Bricker, 26, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday for theft at the Wal-Mart.

Kenneth Johnson, 39, of Marengo was arrested at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday for a probation violation.

 

Traffic Citations:

Brandie Daniels-Anderson, 30, of Mount Vernon was cited at 12:10 p.m. on Friday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.

Felicity Gibson, 20, of Mount Vernon was cited at 4:55 p.m. Friday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.

Chance Randle, 16, of Mount Venron was cited at 11:45 p.m. on Friday for failing to control his vehicle.

 

Accidents:

At around 12:05 p.m. on Friday, Amanda M. Hoeflick, 23, of Mount Vernon was heading eastbound on Coshocton Avenue in a 2001 Dodge 1500.  Brandie S. Daniels-Anderson, 30, of Mount Vernon was immediately behind her in a 2008 Buick LaCrosse.  When Hoeflich stopped for traffic near Highland Drive, Daniels-Anderson rear-ended her.  Daniels-Anderson was cited for the incident.

At 4:55 p.m. on Friday, Daniel T. Colopy, Jr., 36, of Danville was traveling northeast-bound on Columbus Road in a 2006 Ford F-450.  Felicity E. Gibson, 20, of Mount Vernon was immediately behind him in her 1999 Ford F-150.  When Colopy stopped for a vehicle that was traveling southbound on S. Main Street, Gibson rear-ended her.  Gibson was cited for the incident.

 

Incidents:

At 11:40 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to a reported disturbance at the Knox County Career Center.  A suspect was identified.

At 5:25 p.m. on Friday, officers arrested a suspected shoplifter who had been detained at Kroger.  A deli chicken—or portions thereof—was recovered.

At 6:15 p.m. on Friday, a resident of the 800-block of Howard Street reported that someone had abandoned a red-and-silver bicycle in her front yard.  It had been there for about three days.  An officer collected it as found property and placed it into the MVPD impound garage.

At around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, an officer was dispatched to the area of Wooster and McGibney roads regarding a disabled vehicle in the middle of the road.  A Plymouth van was towed away by Howard Street Garage.

At 10:40 a.m. on Sunday, an officer responded to an open-door complaint at a residence on the 100-block of E. Lamartine Street.

At 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, a resident of the 100-block of E. Sugar Street reported that he had found a pink bicycle beside his garage.  After checking with neighbors and finding no owner, he contacted the police.  An officer collected it as found property and placed it in the MVPD bicycle garage.

At 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, a suspect was issued a summons in lieu of arrest after a shoplifting incident at Wal-Mart.  A pair of sunglasses, some slippers, sleepwear, a pair of skinny jeans, a sweater, and a coat—with a combined value of $93.19—were recovered and a surveillance video was collected as evidence.

At 5:25 p.m. on Sunday, a victim reported that she was being harassed by phone.

At 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a reported theft from a residence on the 900-block on E. High Street.  According to the victim, a “big walnut log” was missing.
