Arrests and Charges:

Brett Beauchamp, 25, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday for criminal trespassing.

Traffic Citations:

Abigail Given, 24, of Mount Vernon was cited at 12:50 p.m. on Friday for driving with a suspended license and for operating a vehicle with expired plates.

Vicki White, 50, of Mount Vernon was cited at 4:15 p.m. on Friday for illegal operation at a stop sign.

Johnny Elswick, 36, of Mount Vernon was cited at 4:20 p.m. on Friday for starting and backing a vehicle without insuring it was safe to do so.

Elaine Hillier, 78, of Fredericktown was cited at 12:50 p.m. on Saturday for failing to yield the right-of-way when turning left.

Accidents:

At 4:15 p.m. on Friday, Beverly A. Shay, 63, of Centerburg was traveling westbound on W. High Street in her 2014 Dodge Dart.  Vicki J. White, 50, of Mount Vernon was traveling northbound on S. Norton Street in her 2007 Ford Fusion.  At the intersection of those streets, White pulled out and struck the driver’s side of Shay’s vehicle.  White was cited for the incident.

At 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, Elaine L. Hillier, 78, of Fredericktown was traveling east on Coshocton Avenue in her 2011 Chevy Impala.  Nichole Lynne Hinkens, 16, of Mount Vernon was traveling westbound on Coshocton Avenue in her 2005 Ford Focus.  Hillier attempted to turn left into the driveway at Ruby Tuesday’s, pulled in front of Hinkens’s vehicle, and Hinkens struck the rear passenger side of Hillier’s vehicle.  Hillier was cited for the incident and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Incidents:

At 8:05 a.m. on Friday, officers took a report of a lost bicycle on the 100-block of Howard Street.

At 11:15 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to a reported theft at Shoe Sensation on Coshocton Avenue.  A pair of size-8 Fila shoes, valued at $69.99, was missing and a suspect was identified.

At 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to a duplex on the 100-block of N. Gay Street in response to a reported disturbance.  A suspect was identified and arrested and a red-and-black Jordan flat-bill hat was restored to its rightful owner.

At 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to an alarm at Duke’s Quick Lube that indicated a cut phone line.  They found the exterior to be secure and in order.  When a keyholder arrived, they checked the interior as well and found everything in order there as well.  They secured the door and left the scene.  The report noted that a service truck was in the area and appeared to be working on the phone lines during the time of the incident.

At 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, a victim reported that he was assaulted while working at a Coshocton Avenue pizza business.  A suspect was identified and the victim had apparent minor injuries.

At 5:25 p.m. on Sunday, a victim reported that an apartment on Marion Street had been vandalized.  The front entry door to an apartment had been damaged and the curtain rods in the living room had been broken.  Personal belongings had been damaged and thrown around as well.
