MILLWOOD – Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced a re-launch of the Kokosing Valley Camp and Canoe Mini Golf Course.
Kokosing Valley Camp and Canoe has sat on the Kokosing River for over 50 years. Originally a canoe livery, Kokosing Valley Camp and Canoe is owned and operated by the second generation of the Gilmore Family.
Craig and Persephone Gilmore have run the campground and livery since 2003.
“Our kids were raised here, and many campers have raised their families here too. It’s so awesome to see generations enjoy this experience,” Persephone said.
With the last year showing an uptick of campers and a record year for outdoor recreation, business is good.
“We are booked solid with groups and campers wanting to come and enjoy the river. It’s great to offer that escape!” Craig said.
Along with camping and river trips, campers and public visitors can now enjoy a newly renovated 9-hole mini golf course.
“There’s nothing like this here in Knox County,” the owners stated.
Kokosing Valley Camp and Canoe is open every day to the public, and mini golf can be enjoyed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can enjoy a round of golf for $5 and are encouraged to stick around for a scoop of ice cream from their Visitor Center.
“We look forward to promoting date night specials and food trucks come out to our property to make this a fun experience for anyone and everyone,” Craig said.
