MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Summer Front Porch Concert Series, hosted by the Kokosing Valley Arts Alliance, will close its 2026 season on Friday, Aug. 21, from 6–9 p.m.

The community is invited to enjoy one more summer evening filled with live music, local talent, and neighborhood charm along East High Street in Mount Vernon.

Held annually throughout the summer, the Mount Vernon Summer Front Porch Concert Series transforms the picturesque front porches of historic East High Street homes into stages for local community musicians. Neighbors, friends, and visitors are invited to stroll from porch to porch, enjoying an eclectic mix of music in the community vibe of a summer evening in Mount Vernon.

The Aug. 21 concert will again showcase the depth and diversity of musical talent found throughout the community. Performances by local musicians offer the opportunity to discover new performers, reconnect with familiar favorites, and experience live music in a setting unlike any traditional concert venue.

A community event

More than a concert, the Front Porch Concert Series has grown into a lively musical street fair and community gathering. Throughout the evening, attendees can enjoy food trucks, family activities, artists and vendors, and the welcoming atmosphere that has made the series a favorite summer tradition.

As the sun begins to set and music carries from porch to porch, the final concert offers an opportunity to celebrate not only another successful season, but also the musicians, homeowners, volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and attendees who make the series possible each year.

“Our sponsors’ and community partners’ support and commitment to the arts help make this a unique celebration of local music and community,” co-organizer Jeff Williams said.

“The Front Porch Concert Series is also grateful to the East High Street homeowners who generously share their porches and neighborhood, the musicians who share their talents, and the many volunteers and community partners whose time and hard work bring each concert to life.

“Whether you are a longtime front porch concert attendee, a visitor to Mount Vernon, or simply looking for one more memorable summer evening, the community is invited to join us on East High Street on Aug. 21 to celebrate local music, creativity, and community.”
